Chicago's North Shore is not usually associated with hunger and poverty, but thousands of our neighbors rely on local food pantries and free or reduced meal programs to make ends meet.
We are passionate about sharing the bread of life in our community, and about redistributing basic necessities among those in need. Each month, our Sack Lunch team partners with Interfaith Action of Evanston to prepare and distribute lunches at the First Congregational Church House Soup Kitchen. We also provide clothes, socks, shoes, and bags, and even home-knit hats and scarves in the winter months.
Since November 2023, we have also partnered with our friends at the Niles Township Respite Center to provide lunches for our hungry neighbors here in Skokie.
Our sack lunch team meets in St. Timothy's fellowship hall at 9:45 a.m. on the fourth Friday of every month to assemble lunches together, and we would love to have you join us!

We are celebrating the 15th anniversary of St. Timothy’s participation in Interfaith Action of Evanston’s Sack Lunch Program. We give thanks for this way to share the bread of life with our neighbors, and for all of those who have participated in the program over the years.
We served 606 lunches in 2023!
We have served 717 lunches so far this year!
